Set of eighteen photographs by Elizabeth Starkey of houses in Ocean Beach and Saltaire. Foxing on back of mounts. 8.5 x 10.5. OBHS #85-53d. Balconies, 212 Wilmot, pre-1915. The house was built by Captain Noah Ackerly. It was owned by New York City Mayor, James Gaynor. In design, it is typical of the two-story porch houses built in OB prior to 1915, but it is one of the largest of this type in the village. The house was also owned by the Bedfords (possibly related to the Wallaces by marriage). The house was then purchased by the MacDougals in 1935. In 1965, it was purchased by Edith and Leslie Lieber.
