 The Free Union Church of Ocean Beach was organized in the year 1916, and its affairs are administered by its Board of Trustees. The Church is interdenominational; all Christians are welcome and are cordially invited to worship and work with us. Blurry photo of building, boardwalk and tower on the left; top reads "…Union Free Church taken A…" [cut off my matt]; key reads "4) The Free Union Church with Fire Tower in Background." The Free Union Church is the oldest existing House of Worship on Fire Island. Ground was broken for the laying of the cornerstone for the Church in 1917. In late August of 1918 a service of dedication of the building was held.
